This Site Is Secure
This site uses SSL 128-bit Encryption technology to securely process your
personal credit information.
What does 128-bit encryption technology mean to you, the consumer? Well,
to keep it in simple terms, it means that it would take just about all of the
computers on planet earth working and processing together simultaneously
several light-years to even get close to cracking the encryption code. This is
by the way the reason the U.S. Government restricts the exportation of this
technology abroad.
We know of no actual reported cases of any hackers gaining illegal access to
credit accounts via this site or any site utilizing 128-bit encrytion technology
since the introduction of 128-bit encryption technology.
No, these days credit fraud typically happens as a result of your account
number being stolen or copied, either on receipts or electronically (with those
new hand-held scanners). This happens when you physically hand your card
over to another person for processing such as at a restaurant or retail
establishment. The net result of all this is that secure-site shopping on the
internet is perhaps one of the safest ways to protect your credit accounts!
Secure Areas vs. Non-Secure Areas
The shopping mall and this site, including the product pages are not on the
secure server, namely because it is not necessary. It is only necessary to
secure the financial transaction portion of the order. Therefore, when you
press the "Place item in shopping cart" button, you move from the
non-secure area to the secure area. The shopping cart is in the secure area.
After placing the item in the shopping cart, if you wish to "Keep Shopping",
then you will be leaving the secure area and will be going into the non-secure
area once again to look around. If you wish to "check-out", then you proceed
with order processing entirely within the secure server.
Windows95, Windows98 & WindowsNT
Be aware that Windows utilizes a "certificate" to keep track of security and
will flash a warning when you are entering a non-secure site location from a
secure site location. This means that when you move from the store to the
shopping cart, windows will not issue any warnings. However, when you leave
your shopping cart and return to the store to browse or order more products,
Windows will warn you that you are entering a non-secure area. This does not
mean that our site is not secure or that your financial information is not
secure. It just means that you are going back and forth between secure and
non-secure areas.
