How did Sage create a fly rod that is lighter, stronger and easier to cast? The latest version of their Generation 5 Technology is defined by improvements across the entire rod-building process. Sage's exclusive analysis software helped better evaluate performance requirements allowing them to eliminate all unnecessary material. In addition, Sage made significant advances in their Aligned Fiber Technology, which replaces traditional glass hoop fibers with lighter, more responsive graphite. This new process required Sage to develop new construction techniques to align and compress these rods for maximum strength. The G5 process allowed Sage to reach previously unattainable levels of line feel, response and performance as well as rod design that better fits the modern casting style with the tip strength to bail you out on a missed stroke and the power to more easily punch flies into the wind.
